style=\"text-align: justify;\">Biogas is one of the most widely used alternative energy sources for the production of renewable energy.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is a totally natural gaseous mixture, consisting of:<\/p><ul><li>Methane (CH<sub>4<\/sub>) &#8211; 50\/60%<\/li><li>Carbon Dioxide (CO<sub>2 ) &#8211;<\/sub>35\/40%<\/li><li>Other gases<strong> &#8211;<\/strong> 1%<ul><li>Nitrogen (N<sub>2<\/sub>),<\/li><li>Hydrogen sulphide (H<sub>2<\/sub>S)<\/li><li>Hydrogen (H<sub>2<\/sub>)<\/li><li>Water vapour (H<sub>2<\/sub>O)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The process of <strong>anaerobic digestion<\/strong> is the main activity for the production of biogas.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Biogas is a renewable energy source, which is generated through a biochemical process using anaerobic bacteria (bacteria which live without oxygen).<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The process can be conducted in <strong>Mesophilic<\/strong> (35 \u00b0C) or in <strong>Thermophilic<\/strong> (55 \u00b0C) temperature conditions; the thermophilic process provides higher yields in biogas and completely destroys pathogenic micro-organisms (salmonella and coliforms).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section
